What is SCORE? Where are your chapters located?

SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with 10,000 volunteers  serving all 50 U.S. states and territories. Since its founding in 1964 as a resource partner for the U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE has helped more than 11 million current and aspiring entrepreneurs start, grow or successfully exit a business through mentoring, resources and education.

Who are SCORE volunteers?

The key qualification SCORE mentors bring is real-world business experience. They are working and retired business owners, executives and managers who have been through the same challenges and decisions that many entrepreneurs are facing today. In addition, SCORE mentors offer valuable expertise in specific industries. All SCORE volunteers receive specialized training offered by the association and are certified in mentoring methodology.

What is SCORE’s relationship with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)?

SCORE is a U.S. Small Business Administration resource partner, meaning that we are funded in part by a grant from the SBA.

What is SCORE’s economic impact?

In 2022 alone, SCORE volunteers helped create 30,453 new small businesses and add 112,570 total jobs to the American economy.

How diverse is SCORE?

Diverse backgrounds, different voices, and unique needs may call for specialized resources or a personalized approach to mentoring. SCORE is listening, recognizing, and fulfilling these diverse needs in a wholly inclusive platform called SCORE for All.  SCORE is actively recruiting diverse volunteers to share their expertise and business insight with current or rising entrepreneurs.
