How SCORE helped.

The Valley Marketplace is Ohio's first real farmers market featuring our area's Amish community, selling their homemade goods. There are over 20 vendors selling their products all under one roof of 27,000 square feet.

Ron and Marianne Cohen are a third generation family business that established a market in 1932 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

When Ron first came to SCORE to explain the concept of his market, the demographics of the area were discussed in order to make a good decision on the location for the business. During subsequent meetings, including several on-site. a variety of business topics were discussed over the next year.

In July of 2013, the Tuesday mentoring team toured the market with Ron and discussed market efforts and the soft opening planned for August and the grand opening in September.

The market, which has been opened for almost a year, has been widely accepted in the community.
